This Pastel square lattice created especially for a client in memory of her mother — a delicate, luminous tribute. Soft, translucent squares producing subtle shifts in colour and tone as you move around the piece.

The geometry of the lattice speaks to continuity and connection; the pastel palette evokes tenderness and memory. Mounted with a slim shadow gap, the piece appears to float, creating a contemplative presence suited to a private interior or a place of remembrance.

Commissioned with close attention to the client’s recollections and stories, this work honours a personal history while remaining understated and beautiful — a calm, enduring object of memory.

These two pieces are very special to me for several reasons. My client of thirty years has moved and had the alcoves prepared specially for these works.

Having pieces commissioned or selected over time creates a particular intimacy — you learn how a work breathes with a room, how it changes with daylight, and how it joins the household. Preparing the alcoves specifically for these objects honours that relationship: the recess depth, sightlines and lighting were all considered to present them as a pair without forcing them into uniformity. The dress carries a decade of presence; the tree brings a fresh note. Together they form a small conversation in glass that references memory, continuity and renewal.
