COMMISSIONS

Elizabeth creates bespoke glass art pieces tailored for both corporate and private clients. Understanding the specific requirements—including size, budget, and timeframe—is essential to ensure the final work exceeds expectations. By carefully listening and discussing all aspects, Elizabeth creates a piece reflecting the client's vision. Elizabeth will listen and will create a design that is not only beautiful but has personal meaning.

This Window commission was extremely challenging as it required many layers to achieve the depth in the design. My client asked me to create a piece that carried their cultural background and history — a visual narrative woven into the glass through technique, colour and texture.

To honour that brief I began with research into the motifs, colours and materials significant to their culture. I translated those elements into a layered approach using multiple overlays to introduce depth and translucency to the traditional motifs.

The finished piece balances cultural symbolism with contemporary glass practice: the colours and patterns remain legible close up, while the layered transparency provides a contemplative distance when viewed as a complete work. The result is a durable, luminous object that carries the client’s heritage in both literal motifs and the material memory of the making process.

A private commission has been undertaken to create a four-metre-tall window designed to symbolise the interconnectedness of earth and sky. The upper section of the window features a delicate rendering of a tree, its branches reaching upward to meet the sky. Transitioning to the lower panel, the design immerses viewers in an underwater scene that captures the tranquillity and vibrancy beneath the surface. The composition balances these elements to evoke a seamless connection between nature’s domains, using thoughtful colour palettes and textural glass techniques to enhance depth and movement throughout the piece.
